Avatar Tutorial 01

We are going to make into

Program: Paint Shop Pro 9
Level: Intermediate
Base Image:

1. Resize the image to 50% [here]
2. Create a New Image with the dimensions, 100x100 [here]
   
3. Rename the layer 01
4. Duplicate the layer and name it 02
5. Go to Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur
   
6. Set Gaussian Blur to the Radius of 1.00
   
7. Set to Soft Light at 100%
8. Click on the color of the background (163, 193, 154 ).
   
9. Fill a new layer with the color, rename it 03, then set it to Screen at 50%
   
10. Move layer 03 under layer 02
    
11. Create a new layer, name it 04 and use this brush with White
    ->
12. Duplicate layer 01, bring it to the top and set it to Soft Light and rename it 05
    
13. Go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Brightness/Contrast, and set it to -48
    
14. Repeat the above step
    
15. Make a new layer, name it 06, and fill with this:
    
16. Set layer 06 to Color, 40%, and move it under layer 05
    
17. Create a new layer, name 07, outline with Black, and set to Soft Light
    
18. Create a new layer, name 08, and apply this texture to the left side of the avatar:
    
    Set layer 08 to Soft Light, and erase the parts of the texture that overlaps with Yuuri's shoulder
    
    Do whatever else you'd like to do; this is what I ended up with:
